Lists of alternatives are among the most unique functions of TILIGO program.
They allow you to create sets in which some elements may be replaced from a drop-down menu.
It enables to create very flexible sets. Instead of creating many similar sets, you may create a one which gives the possibility of substitution of specific elements. This function considerably simplifies the work in TILIGO and minimizes the need for the creation of variant sets.
An example of an alternative set may be Computer, which includes the following lists of alternatives:
E.g. Cases, motherboards, memories, power supplies, etc.
At the end of this manual, there are interesting descriptions of examples using lists of alternatives. To demonstrate the offer including lists of alternatives you need to open Offers container, then the subdirectory DEMO and double-click an element Car. Then, in the right program window, a demonstration offer will be shown.
In this offer, there are several cars of the same brand. However, they differ in configuration. The offering company may change the configuration at any time by right-clicking on a given car and selecting an option Select alternative element.
Then, you can see a window with lists of alternatives enabling you to modify any car element.
Lists of alternatives may be created directly by the program's user. They may also be continuously improved and updated.
Using the example as a model, a user may create their own offers with lists of alternatives.
A very interesting and useful function in lists of alternatives is the opportunity to update Name field depending on the selected alternative element.
The principle of creating offers including lists of alternatives is the following:
| 1. | First, create all the basic elements of alternative lists and give them all the necessary features such as price, description, parameters, etc. |
| 2. | Then, create lists (sets) of alternatives. In order to do this, you need to select [New set] and find there a label [List of alternatives]. After selecting this option, you can keep adding new alternative elements to the list. |
| 3. | Create sets (which should include, among other things, lists (sets) of alternatives). |
| 4. | Such complex sets, may now be used in any offer. |
