Applying functions in product descriptions

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Another innovative technique used in TILIGO is an opportunity to use functions in the descriptions of offered products. It allows to change the content of the descriptions according to the parameters used in them.

The parameters in the descriptions are highlighted using square brackets.

An example of a description:

Aluminium beam {L} long.

If in the parameters of a particular element (beam) you will set the value L on e.g. 1200mm (by a program or manually), the offer will change into:

Aluminium beam 1200mm long.

Another interesting technique is using functions in the descriptions of sets. If in a set you will insert e.g. description:

Furniture set consisting of:

{1}

{2}

{3}

{7}

or

Furniture set consisting of:

{ALL} (when all the sub-elements are to be added)

and the furniture set includes:

1. An upholstered armchair

2. A wardrobe {L} long and {H} high

3. A TV stand

4. A cupboard

5. A stool

6. A chair

7. A conference table

then, in this case, the offer will contain the following:

Furniture set consisting of:

1. An upholstered armchair

2. A wardrobe {L} long and {H} high

3. A TV stand

7. A conference table

Therefore, it is enough to change the content of the set in order to keep the name of the set appropriately updated.

The functioning of the opportunities mentioned above is presented in DEMO examples normally attached to every new version of TILIGO.
