Own code and supplier code

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

In addition to naming products, the producers usually give these products code labels. It allows to give the same name to different products and distinguish them by code. Typically, the Code is created as a set of numbers. There are also codes containing a mixture of letters and figures and even codes containing the letters only.

Moreover, it usually happens that the code of products being in turnover is changed so that each of middlemen selling products produced by different companies can give their own code labels. Sometimes, the middlemen change the name of the product itself.

Such a change of a code label is made for two reasons:

- Middlemen do not want to inform a final customer about the producer of a particular product.

- It may happen that some products will accidentally have the same code (e.g. when they come from various suppliers).

Because of problems mentioned above, TILIGO program makes it possible to assign two codes to each product (supplier code - also known as foreign code - and own code).

When entering a new product to TILIGO program, it suggests the next number of own code. However, you can overwrite this code with your own one.
